Clinical Nutrition
Clinical nutrition aims to restore the nutritional imbalances of important nutrients that may have occurred throughout one's life for many reasons. An alteration of the diet (see Diet and Lifestyle Counseling) is usually the first and only necessary means used to correct for the various deficiencies or excesses of macro and micro nutrients.
Clinical nutrition also involves the use of vitamins, minerals and amino acids to support the proper function of the body. With millions of chemical reactions occurring in the body at once, these supplements aim to restore balance to the chemical reactions that are deficient in the nutrients required for the body to carry out normal activities. The use of supplements is based off of extensive, peer reviewed scientific research to ensure the appropriate dosages and wanted effects.
